An All Souls service is a quiet, contemplative service that is held to remember and pray for deceased loved ones, and to reflect on the meaning of death and eternal life.

During the service, people may write down the names of people they wish to be remembered, which are then read out.

Candles are lit, flower petals scattered and ribbons tied.
